The staff from Everycare in Eastbourne have now returned from their voluntary trip to San Ignacio in Belize where they were providing care to the elderly at the Octavia Waight Centre and the Hazel Hutchinson Day Care Centre throughout February and March.

Angela Fuller, Everycare Eastbourne’s Director said ‘I read somewhere that the definition of a volunteer was someone who sets out to change other peoples lives but in doing so changes there own and this was certainly true of the trip for most of the staff who went. It was a fantastic experience and we met some lovely people who we won’t forget in a hurry’ She added ‘I hope one day we can repeat the trip with more of our staff to continue what we have started.’

A huge thank you to all those individuals and companies who helped in anyway, large or small, to make the trip possible.

Countdown to Belize…….

In just over two weeks time the team from Everycare Eastbourne will be heading out to the Octavia Waight Centre in Belize. The trip, which has been a year in the planning, will ensure that staff and residents of the Nursing home in San Ignacio will benefit from the help, support and additional training the Eastbourne team will be able to provide.

Staff will be working in the home, in the community, providing a meals on wheels service and helping staff in day care centres and clinics. Along with this they will also be taking out much needed medical supplies that the home have requested.

A number of local and national organisations have helped support the company in getting 13 staff out to Belize including, Mercator Travel, Brocklesby Design, John Lewis, Lloyds Bank, Proctors Chemists, The Thai Brasserie and many many individuals.

A big big thank you to all those people for their help and support in making this happen from the Eastbourne team and from the residents of the Octavia Waight Centre.

Everycare Eastbourne – home care exhibition

Staff from Everycare Eastbourne held a day long exhibition at Eastbourne’s Arndale Centre on the 15th October promoting their services anEverycare Eastbourne home care exhibitiond trying to raise awareness of what is available to members of the public when they need that extra bit of help at home.

‘Home care is one of those things that people don’t give much thought too until it’s absolutely necessarry’ said Angela Fuller Everycare’s proprietor. ‘We have been providing home care and nursing services to the people of Eastbourne for 16 years and it’s interesting to see on a day like this how many people have never heard of us or the services that we can provide’

‘Along with members of the public getting information about the range of home care and nursing services that Everycare offer it was also a great day to talk to prospective staff members and catch up with clients both old and new’ she added.
